Macau | Committee discusses e-governance’s legal framework

Macau (MNA) – The Advising Committee of the Juridical Reform has acknowledged the need to define e-governance’s legal regime within the framework of an attendant law proposal that is being prepared for the promotion of e-government in the Macau SAR.

In the 28th plenary session of the committee held this week (March 4) and presided by the Secretary for Administration and Justice, Sonia Chan Hoi Fa, committee members have also discussed the scope of the law, which was drafted by the Public Administration Services Department (SAFP), the use of electronic services and certificates, digital titles and their legal effects, as well as the electronic notification service, to name a few.

Professional opinions and suggestions on practical and legislative technical aspects were presented, with SAFP representatives clarifying and answering questions raised during the meeting.

In the release from Tuesday, the government states that it ‘has continuously promoted the development of electronic governance’ in the city and ‘actively encouraged the various public services to reorganize service procedures and intercommunication and adopt digital means to provide better services to citizens and businesses.’
