Macau | Ferry to transfer affected passengers back to city from hard landing flight in Shenzhen

Macau (MNA) – The Macau International Airport Co. Ltd. (CAM) revealed to Macau News Agency (MNA) this Tuesday that a ferry has been arranged by Capital Airlines to transfer passengers affected by a hard landing flight from Shenzhen Airport back to Macau.

A Capital Airlines flight (JD5759) which flew from Beijing to Macau experienced a hard landing at Shenzhen Airport today at 11.58am , according to notices posted by Capital Airlines and Shenzhen Airport on Weibo. The post confirmed that no serious casualties had been sustained but that five passengers suffered light injuries from the incident.

Another flight from Macau to Beijing was hence affected, according to a CAM spokesperson, with Capital Airlines to reschedule the flight later today.

The notices on Weibo stated that there is a suspicion that the flight was affected by wind shear whilst trying to land at Macau International Airport (MIA).

The flight was then forced to re-depart and landed hard at Shenzhen Airport instead, with half of the plane’s landing fore-gear frayed off.

The Civil Aviation Authority (AACM) released a note following the incident that it will investigate the incident together with the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
