Macau firms ink deals with Zhaoqing counterparts

Eighteen co-operation projects were signed yesterday between Macau and Zhaoqing companies at Macau Tower. The agreements inked are worth US$1.3 billion. The investment and industrial projects cover the real estate, hotel, jewellery and leisure industries. According to Zhaoqing Mayor Guo Feng, a total of “136 enterprises from Macau have been incorporated in Zhaoqing, and Macau has become an important region for Zhaoqing to attract foreign capital”, the Macau Post Daily reported. According to the president of the Macau Trade and Investment Institute, Jackson Chang, existing businesses between Macau and Zhaoqing include the agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, real-estate, telecommunications and convention sectors, as well as education and sports. Zhaoqing is a prefecture-level city of Guangdong province, northwest of Macau.
