Macau foreign residents again allowed to apply for all Mainland China visas categories starting from March 15

The Chinese Ministry for Foreign Affairs has announced that in order to further support the recovery of the exchange of people and the development of society and economy of the Macau SAR it will further adjust the visa policy to the Mainland China for foreigner residents in the city.

Starting from March 15, Macau foreign residents -including permanent or non-permanent – can apply for all categories of visas to the mainland of China.

Eligible Macau residents will have to provide their identity card and proof of stay in Macau SAR for at least two consecutive months before the date of application.

Meanwhile, all non-resident foreigners in the Macau SAR – blue cards – who have been inoculated with a Chinese Covid-19 vaccine with valid certificates of vaccination will be able to apply for certain business and family reunion cases.

Foreign residents who are going to Mainland China to take part in working, visiting, and commercial activities and their family members may submit applications according to the requirements before the outbreak of a pandemic.

Those who are family members, including spouses, parents, children and other close relatives – siblings, grandparents and grandchildren – of Chinese citizens or of foreigners with Chinese permanent residence and intend to go to China for family reunion, support of the old, family visits, funeral or visiting critically ill relatives, may also apply.

Meanwhile, those who hold valid APEC business travel card may apply for business visa-free of charge, with the invitation letter issued by the inviting entity in the mainland of China.
