Macau | Former 14K triad leader to set up security company for Chinese merchants

Macau (MNA) – The World Hongmen History And Culture Association, chaired by Wan Kuok-koi, the former leader of the Macau branch of the infamous 14K triad gang, is planning to set up Hongmen Security Company for Chinese merchants to integrate with the development of the ‘One Belt One Road’ initiative.

Speaking in a video which was taken during the Chinese New Year, Mr. Wan said the aforementioned company will help the nation to attract companies and collect capital.

He added that he will raise US$30 million to set up the seed company and aims to become a listed company in two year’s time.

He expects that the value of the company will increase to hundreds of millions in the future.

Mr. Wan stressed the association’s motto of loving and supporting the country, Macau and Hong Kong.

Wan Kuok-koi was convicted and jailed in November 1999 along with eight associates and his brother Wan Kuok-hung, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

After his jail term was reduced to 13 years and 10 months, the former triad leader was released from prison on 1 December 2012.
