Macau | Gov’t dismisses suggestion of rolling out half-day leave for civil servants

Macau (MNA) – The Macau SAR Government has turned down the suggestion of introducing a half-day leave for civil servants, the chairman of the 3rd Standing Committee of the Legislative Assembly (AL), Wong Hin Fai, said after meeting with government representatives on Monday.

Legislators who are members of the committee are currently discussing the revision of regulations for civil servants in the city.

The chairman referred to the government’s position claiming that the introduction of a half-day leave would disrupt other related arrangements and calculations, such as the days of allowance for sick leave or the years of working experience, given that the calculations are currently based upon absence of a whole day as a unit.
