Macau (MNA) – The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HKZM) would be opened in May or June of this year, although the exact date has not yet been confirmed, according to China Daily.
Cited from a source familiar with the construction, China Daily reported that the operational date will ‘partially depend upon the construction progress of port facilities in Zhuhai and Hong Kong’.
For Macau’s progress on its checkpoint, the source told the Chinese media that it is likely to be completed sooner.
However, policies for cross-border traffic have not been finalised by the three governments. Policies include details of the cross-Administration management mechanism such as Customs arrangements, emergency rescue plans and cross-border car insurance arrangements.
