Macau | Inflation rate up 3.33 pct y-o-y in July

Macau (MNA) – The inflation rate for the month of July has increased 3.33 per cent year-on-year, growing 0.22 percentage points when compared to the previous month, according to the Statistics and Census Services (DSEC).

For the 12 months ended July 2018, the inflation rate had increased 2.32 per cent from the previous period.

Dearer charges for eating out, rising rentals for dwellings, higher parking meter rates and increasing prices of gasoline and adults’ clothing pushed up the rate for July, the DSEC explained.

The price indices of ‘clothing and footwear’, ‘transport’ and ‘health’ increased 7.71 per cent, 6.64 per cent and 4.65 per cent year-on-year, respectively.
