Macau (MNA) – In a release on Wednesday, the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicates that for the month of December 2018, visitors on package tours totalled 917,000, up by 2.3 per cent month-to-month and 1.6 per cent year-on-year.
The number makes up 61,000 package tour visitors from South Korea, and 62,000 from Taiwan, a surge by 39 per cent and 23.4 per cent respectively year-on-year, whereas visitors from Mainland China decreased by 1.2 per cent, with 733,000 package tour visitors.
Meanwhile, for the whole year of 2018, package tour visitors totalled 9,096,000, up by 5.5 per cent year-on-year, and the number of residents travelling on package tours decreased by 6.1 per cent to 527,000.
Last year also saw guests of hotels and guesthouses reach 14,107,000, up by 7.2 per cent year-on-year, with an average occupancy rate increase by 3.9 percentage points
year-on-year to 91.1 per cent.
