Macau (MNA) – In an exchange visit organized by the Macau SAR Government, the Pearl River Delta Delegation will be in Portugal and Luxembourg until March 11 to participate in activities and studies in environmental protection, in particular regarding green finance.
During this trip, which started on Sunday, March 3, the delegation will visit local government departments, organizations and companies engaged in the environmental and financial sectors, exchanging environmental information and ideas for green development.
The results of the exchange sessions will feature at the Macau 2019 International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition (2019 MIECF), which will take place in the city from March 28 to 30 under the theme “Towards an ecological civilization and sustainable development.”
The government also stated in its release that MIECF will be held in line with the “General Planning Guidelines for the Development of the Greater Bay Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau,” recently announced by the Central Government, following global green and sustainable economic trends.
According to the note, MIECF is aimed at enabling the governments of the provinces and regions of the Pearl River Pan-Delta, as well as environmental protection companies, to have a network with the Portuguese and European countries in order to intensify co-operation in the environmental protection sector .
The delegation is composed of some 50 members, including representatives of the environmental, economic and trade departments of the Pan-Delta regions of the Pearl River.
