Macau | Stanley Ho admitted to HK hospital emergency room – Media

Macau (MNA) – Local gaming tycoon Stanley Ho Hung Sun has reportedly been admitted to the emergency room of private Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital on 9:00 pm of Friday, Apple Daily reported.

Due to his fragile health condition the 97-year-old businessman has been living in the hospital with the report indicating that his health got worse at around 6:00 pm of Friday. Despite initial treatment, some organ failure was registered and Mr. Ho was sent to the emergency room.

According to Apple Daily, several members of the gaming businessman daughters were seen arriving at the hospital, including Angela Ho Chiu Yin, Daisy Ho, Laurinda Ho and one of his granddaughters Faye Ho.

Ho’s fourth wife, legislator and gaming businesswoman Angela Leong On Kei, was also reported to have gone to the Hong Kong hospital but when asked by reporters about Mr. Ho’s health condition, she denied to be there to visit him and that she “had only gone to the hospital to receive Lai Sis [Chinese New Year red envelopes]”.

The health of the founder of gaming group STDM has become increasingly fragile in recent years, prompting disputes between his heirs for control of his many assets.

In 2009 Ho fell in his apartment at Repulse Bay in Hong Kong, injuring his head and having to undergo brain surgery. He was discharged from the hospital half a year later, but having to return to hospital care in 2014.

Ho’s daughter Pansy Ho Chiu King having took control as chairman of Hong Kong conglomerate Shun Tak Holdings Ltd in June, 2017, with Mr. Ho also retiring as chairman emeritus of gaming operator SJM Holdings in June, 2018, a position then taken by his daughter Daisy Ho.

This month STDM reported that a alliance was established between entities owned by Pansy Ho  and the Fok Foundation – the foundation founded by late businessman Henry Fok – to altogether collectively own 53.012 per cent in the group, something seen by analysts as an effort for Pansy Ho to head the future of STDM.

MNA attempted to confirm the information with STDM representatives but was unable to establish contact when this article was published.
