Macau | Study on Trade Union Law handed to Kevin Ho’s Association

Macau (MNA) – The Association of Political Economic Studies of Macau chaired by local businessman Kevin Ho King Lun has been assigned by the Macau SAR Government to conduct a study of the social conditions necessary to start discussions of the Trade Union Law.

According to a dispatch published in the Official Gazette on Wednesday, the Co-ordinator of the Executive Committee of the Permanent Council of Social Affairs, Wong Chi Hong, has been delegated full power by the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Lionel Leong Vai Tac, to represent the MSAR in the celebration of the contract with the Association created in 2015 and chaired by Ho.

Mr. Ho has recently entered into a 15 million Euro (MOP a deal as one of three shareholders of KNJ Investment Ltd. to acquire 30 per cent of Global Media, a Portuguese publisher which owns and manages a series of important news outlets inPortugal, including print newspapers Diário de Notícias and Jornal de Notícias plus radio and online news outlets.

Mr. Ho is the nephew of the MSAR’s first Chief Executive, Edmund Ho Hau Wah.

The Legislative Assembly (AL) has already rejected the trade union law several times.
