Macau | Sulu Sou to appeal to Court of Final Appeal

Macau (MNA) – Sulu Sou, the suspended local legislator facing charges of qualified disobedience, said he will appeal to the Court of Final Appeal (TUI) regarding a previous court decision that dismissed his claims about the procedure that led to his suspension, local newspaper Tribuna de Macau said on Tuesday.

Mr. Sou tried to have his suspension dismissed by starting a legal process at the Court of Second Instance or Court of Appeal. The legal action was intended to immediately reverse the decision of the Macau SAR Legislative Assembly.

“If TUI agrees to judge our request and we win, the best result I expect is that the AL needs to re-vote my suspension, but without violating the rules,” Tribuna de Macau quoted Mr. Sou as saying.

Mr. Sou previously said on his Facebook page that ‘the Court did not decide on the merits of the case’, as previously reported by MNA.
