The Macau SAR Sports has sent a 102 member delegation with athletes from 17 sport modalities to the 14th National Games to be held throughout Shaanxi from September 15 to 27.
Local athletes will compete in athletics, water sports (swimming, artistic swimming, jumping into water), cycling (road and track), triathlon, beach volleyball, table tennis, badminton, tennis, karate-do, judo, taekwondo, fencing, boxing, wushu (taolu and sanda), shooting, canoeing (speed), sailing (RS-X, Laser).
The 14th National Games is a multi-sport event countrywide event with a total of 35 sport modalities.
The opening ceremony took place yesterday, with the Macau SAR sports delegation taking part in a judo competition today (Thursday).
In this edition of the National Games strict pandemic prevention measures, and a closed-loop management will be implemented
All participating members of the Macau delegation completed the 2 doses of vaccine prior to arrival in Shanxi and measured their body temperature and presented health declaration, respectively, every day within 14 days prior to arrival at the different competition zones, and performed nucleic acid tests 14 days, 7 days and 48 hours before departure.
Upon arrival at the different competition zones, it will be necessary to carry out the nucleic acid tests more often as required by the Organizing Committee, in order to articulate with the respective epidemiological prevention work.
Macau will host the 15th National Games of China in 2025 for the first time, together with Guangdong province and Hong Kong.
