Insurance company and financial services provider group Manulife Hong Kong has announced it will appoint its Chief Strategy Officer for Hong Kong and Macau, Carrie Tong, also as the Head of its Macau Branch.
Tong will start her expanded role from January 1, 2022, subject to regulatory approval.
According to the group, the appointment is part of its growth ambitions for the Greater Bay Area and developing home-grown talent.
‘Our Macau branch has grown rapidly to become an important part of our future growth plans. With Carrie’s appointment as Head of Macau Branch, we will be better positioned to support our distribution channels whilst adding more ambition, investment, and structure to our Macau business strategy,’ Damien Green, CEO of Manulife Hong Kong and Macau, stated in the announcement.
Ms. Tong joined Manulife Asia in 2015 to lead strategy development and business planning, drive business transformation, and execute its strategic project agenda across the region, and was appointed as Chief Strategy Officer for Hong Kong and Macau in 2020.
