Responding to the need for health services in remote areas of the country, a Kenyan association created sea-faring mobile clinics in 2015 to provide basic health services to underserved populations. Often the ‘Safari Doctors’ are the only health resources for residents of the Lamu Archipelago in South-East of Kenya, who face a critical lack of infrastructure, poverty, and violence from Islamist militants.
