Melco initiative ends with 2,400 people vaccinated

Melco Resorts & Entertainment has held a Covid-19 vaccination event at Studio City between June 18 and 21 that ended with 2,400 staff members and their family relatives and friends being inoculated.

‘With colleague immunity now established as a key Company objective to ensure a safe environment for colleagues, guests and the community, we are thrilled to see colleagues’ positive response to the Get the Jab campaign,’ Melco’s Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff, Akiko Takahashi, said in the announcement.

‘We will continue to host more health seminars to promote the benefits of vaccination and to answer colleagues’ queries so that informed choices best suited to each individual’s needs can be made, whilst supporting to the government’s efforts towards achieving herd immunity.’

On May 21 the gaming operator announced a MOP16 million vaccination scheme that offers each fully vaccinated colleague MOP1,000, plus a lucky draw upon reaching certain immunity targets, where up to six employees may win MOP1 million each.

All sig gaming concessionaires and sub-concessionaires in the city have initiated vaccination schemes for their employees in cooperation with health authorities.

According to the most recent update, a total of 209,350 people in Macau have been vaccinated with at least a dose of either Sinopharm or BioNTech vaccines, about one-third of the local population, of which only 88,756 received the required two doses.
