Melco Resorts & Entertainment has clinched two recognitions at the Asia Gaming Awards 2023 in Manila earlier this week for its corporate social responsibility and responsible gaming achievements.
The two awards – best responsible gaming program, and outstanding contribution in corporate social responsibility – were conferred on the gaming operator at Manila Marriott Hotel in the Philippines on 21 March (Tuesday).
They were among over 20 hounours presented by the Asia Gaming Awards 2023, with nearly 300 representatives of the Asian gaming sector in attendance.
Lawrence Ho, the company’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement that he looked forward to further promoting and instilling a culture of responsible gaming across the company and the community through a “three-pronged strategy” that includes technology, education and community engagement.
The company’s local properties – City of Dreams, Studio City and Altira Macau – were the first in Macau to achieve RG Check accreditation from the Responsible Gambling Council – a non-profit organisation founded in Canada in 1983.
The internationally recognised accreditation also covers its properties in Manila and Cyprus.
Besides, the gaming operator said it had organised a total of 2,200 volunteer activities in cooperation with community partners last year.
