More than MOP133 mln in traffic fines levied in Macau in 2021

The Public Security Police Force (CPSP) collected MOP133 million (US$16.5 million) in fines in 2021, an increase of 12.6 per cent over the previous year, it was announced today (Friday).

This figure corresponds to 585,284 traffic law violations registered in 2021, an increase of 6.2 per cent compared to 2020, indicated the police corps.

The CPSP added that it had to block 2,138 vehicles on public roads, including 1,822 cars and 316 motorcycles, a 76 per cent year-on-year rise, while more than 13,000 vehicles – 10,891 cars and 2,658 motorcycles were blocked in charged/metered parking spaces, a 7.3 per cent rise.

Until November, the SAR had 247,049 vehicles, including 112,985 light cars, 7,071 heavy vehicles, 21,316 mopeds and 105,606 motorcycles, according to data from the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC).
