No public allowed in International Dragon Boat Races

There will be no public in the stands for the 2021 Macao International Dragon Boat Races to be held at Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre between June 13 and 14, as part of pandemic prevention measures implemented by health authorities after a recent string of cases in Guangdong.

Participants and staff taking part in the competition will also have to present a valid nucleic acid test report with a negative result or having completed the two doses of vaccine against Covid-19 at least 14 days in advance.

The Family Carnival fair scheduled to be held on June 12 (Saturday) from 10:00am to 6:00pm was also cancelled.

Yesterday local health authorities announced several new preventive measures due to the outbreak of local cases reported in Guangdong, with the presentation of an online health code now required in most public spaces and transports.

Authorities are also ordering those wishing to enter the territory from Guangdong province to present a negative Covid-19 test 48 hours before entering the territory.
