Number of new COVID-19 infections down to 71

The number of newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 reached 71 on Friday, health authorities announced today (Saturday), bringing the total tally since the beginning of the current outbreak to 1,374.

Of the 71 new cases, 45 were detected in code red zones and medical observation hotels, which were found during the management and control phase; 14 cases are from close contacts, 7 were positive cases found in the massive tests and key groups, and 5 cases were confirmed in other groups that were found in the community.

On Thursday, a total of 88 new positive cases were reported.

The third round of mass nucleic acid tests this week ends today (Saturday) at 6pm.

Meanwhile, everyone will need to undergo another four NAT rounds between July 10 and 17. Again, 63 nucleic acid testing stations will be provided, with 42 general stations, two mobile sampling vehicles, seven priority care stations and 12 self-funded stations.
