A total of 139,280 visitors wee reported in the first seven days of the National Day Golden Week, representing an 85.7 per cent year-on-year drop, as the October holiday period nears its end.
The 7th Golden Week day saw some 19,115 visitor arrivals, a 75.3 per cent year-on-year drop, as tourism numbers for the usually busy holiday period remain disappointing.
The data provided by the Public Security Police Force (CPSP) does not include other non-residents such as workers or students.
Macau’s visitor arrivals reached over 980,000 during last year’s Golden Week holiday.
Visitor arrivals in the city have dropped by 86 per cent year-on-year to about 3.2 million, leading to a respective tumble in gross gaming revenues.
