Participant bib collection for the 2021 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon be held on December 5 has opened today (Monday).
The 40th edition of the local marathon – jointly organized by the Sports Bureau and the General Association of Athletics of Macau – opened registration for 12,000 places with only be on for participants tested and vaccinated against Covid-19, it was announced today (Tuesday).
The maximum number of participants was set to 1,400 in the Marathon, 4,800 in the Half Marathon and 5,800 in the Mini Marathon, this year with the requirement of a test and that the athletes have been inoculated with two doses of vaccine against covid-19.
The marathon and half-marathon races will start at 6:00am and the mini-marathon race at 6:15am at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium.
In addition to proof of vaccination, the authorities also require the certificate of negative nucleic acid test results from all those participating in the Galaxy Entertainment 2021 Macau International Marathon.
Participants of the 2021 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon will be allowed to collect their bib, timing chip, identification wristband for anti-pandemic purposes and information document between 12:00pm and 9:00pm from November 29 to December 5, or between 12:00pm and 9:00pm on December 4 at Broadway Macau.
The bibs can only be collected upon presentation of their registration receipt, identification document, a proof of COVID-19 vaccination – two doses completed by 21 November – and valid negative COVID-19 test result (inclusive of race day).
A 6-day Marathon Carnival will also be held at Broadway Macau from 29 November, with a wide array of game booths, performances and live lucky draw.
