Paulo Jorge Espirito Santo to be new Forum Macao Deputy Secretary-General

Paulo Jorge Espirito Santo will replace Rodrigo Brum as be the new Deputy Secretary-General of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Forum Macao), TDM Radio reported.

Brum finished his service term in late August, with Santo – a Sao Tome and Principe diplomat – to represent the eight Portuguese-speaking countries at Forum Macao for a three-year service term.

Former Secretary-General, Xu Yingzhen, has also left office in September after a four years term, with a replacement not yet announced and with Ding Tian, a deputy secretary-general appointed by China to Forum Macao replacing her until the new appointment.

Casimiro Pinto also acts as a third Deputy Secretary-General appointed by the Macau government.

The trade and political body will hold its annual forum meeting in the Macau SAR next week, with the new appointment to be formalized

Jose Augusto Duarte, Portuguese ambassador in Beijing will arrive in Macau next Monday to attend the annual meeting and the Macau International Fair.
