Health authorities indicated today (Thursday) that individuals who were unable to take a scheduled Covid-19 nucleic acid test due to Typhoon Higos will be able to take them from August 20 to 22 without need for an appointment.
Typhoon Higos, which reached Signal 10 disrupted testing operations after its impact on the early hours of August 19.
The usual tests can be carried out at the three designated areas at the Conde de S. Januário, the Pac On Ferry Terminal and the Macao Forum.
Starting from today payment stations will be installed again at the three nucleic acid test stations, with two queues available one of for completed payments and another for not completed payments, with waiting times possibly longer for the last.
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre recommended for residents to pay for nucleic acid testing expenses through digital means, in order to avoid crowding and reduce the risk of disease transmission.
A total of 26,000 people have undergone nucleic acid testing in the past three days.
