Portugal’s Ministry of Agriculture is currently negotiating details of the opening of 73 foreign markets for the export of 349 products from the country, it was announced on Tuesday.
“The Ministry of Agriculture is negotiating 73 markets for the export of 349 products,” the minister, Maria do Céu Antunes, said in response to questions put by members of parliament in a hearing of the agriculture committee.
According to data provided by the minister, in the current and last parliament a total of 64 markets have already been opened for 267 products.
In the current legislature alone, the conditions were put into place for the export of 32 products to 16 new markets.
“During the pandemic 12 markets were opened for 21 products,” the minister added.
