Portugal: Last 24 hours sees 719 cases, eight deaths from new coronavirus

Portugal on Tuesday registered 719 confirmed new cases of infection with coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, eight deaths associated with Covid-19 and a reduction in the number of hospitalisations, according to data from the country’s national health authority, the DGS.

According to the DGS ​​​​​​​epidemiological bulletin released on Tuesday, 345 people are hospitalised, 11 fewer than on Monday, of which 56 in intensive care units, two fewer in the last 24 hours.

Of the recorded deaths, two occurred in the Lisbon region, one in the North, one in the Centre and four in Alentejo.

Seven of the fatalities were over 80 years old and one between 70 and 79 years old.
