Primary education classes to resume on May 25 and June 1

The head of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) education Department, Wong Ka Ki, announced today (Monday) that classes for students from primary four to primary six will resume on May 25, while students from primary one to primary three will resume classes on June 1.

Wong considered that after consulting the health department, listening to its professional opinions, and conducting in-depth and practical discussions with representatives of the education sector, it was considered feasible to resume the primary school classes.

As for kindergarten and special education classes, the DSEJ indicated that their re-start will be dealt with in a more flexible manner, with the possibility that classes might not resume this school year.

Suspended since February, senior secondary classes have resumed on May 4, with junior secondary classes having resumed today.
