As the first cruise ship arrives in Venice after 17 months of coronavirus restrictions, protesters with the ‘No Big Ships’ movement to take to the Giudecca Canal to express their disapproval. A rival group that supports cruise ships, called ‘Venice at work’, also takes to the water to show their support for the activity in a city whose economy relies heavily on tourism.
