Regency Art Hotel becomes 3rd designated local hotel for quarantines

Health authorities announced today that the Regency Art Hotel in Taipa has become the third local hotel designated for quarantine or medical observations, together with Golden Crown China Hotel and Pousada Marina Infante.

The hotel managed by Sabrina Ho Chiu Yeng will add 326 rooms to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre capacity to house people in quarantine.

As of this moment, only residents and non-resident work permit holders from Greater China are allowed to enter the city, with anyone that in the past 14 days has been in countries and regions outside of this area listed a high risk having to be subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine in designated hotels.

The list of high-risk countries includes European countries included in the Schengen space, or in the United Kingdom, US, Canada, Brazil, Egypt, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Iran, and New Zealand will have to be subject to a 14 days quarantine.

Local residents coming from countries defined as medium risk can opt to self-isolate at home.

As of yesterday, there were 432 people quarantined Pousada Marina Infante and Golden Crown, with 264 being Macau residents and tourists; while the rest are non-resident workers.

More than 300 Macau residents are also currently isolating at home, according to figures released by the Public Security Police Force.
