Regency Art Hotel to stop being used for medical observations

Tourism authorities indicated today (Monday) that the Regency Art Hotel will no longer be needed as a location for medical observations.

According to Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Head of Licensing and Supervision Department, Inês Chan, the hotel in Taipa at the moment does not have anyone under medical isolation and cleaning works are being conducted to prepare the property to resume normal operations.

The hotel started being used on March on March 19 as a location where people arriving from countries and regions defined as areas with a high incidence of the novel coronavirus could undergo a 14-day medical observation, with the property casino has also suspended its operations during this period.

This weekend Metropole Hotel also stopped being used as a location for medical observations.

A total of 1,491 people are still undergoing medical observations in 10 local hotels, namely, Pousada Marina Infante Hotel, Golden Crown China Hotel, Grand Coloane Resort, Treasure Hotel, San Tung Fong Commercial Inn South Wing, Grand Lapa, Grand Harbour Hotel, Royal Dragon Hotel and Sheraton.
