Rob Huff penalised and stripped of 10th win at Grand Prix Guia Race

The Macau Grand Prix Stewards of the Meeting have upheld a protest by Shell Teamwork Lynk & Co Motosport and penalised British driver Rob Huff for ‘causing an avoidable collision’ with Chinese driver Ma Qing Hua, stripping the MG XPOWER driver of a 10th win at the Guia Race.

The 30-second penalty handed to Huff, together with another penalty issued to teammate Andy Yan Cheuk Wai – which had finished 3rd – leaves Ma’s teammate in Lynk & Co, Jason Zhang Zhi Qiang, as the winner of the Guia Race, followed by teammate Sunny Wong and Lo Sze Ho from Maximum Racing.

In statements to Macau News Agency, Ma had argued Huff could have avoided the accident that took the 2020 TCR China Championship champion out of the Guia Race this morning and hinted his team had protested his victory.
