Seac Pai Van health center inaugurated

A new health centre able to serve about 40,000 people has been inaugurated today (Monday) in Seac Pai Van, Coloane with the former temporary health centre in the area to be shuttered.

The new Seac Pai Van Health Center at Avenida do Vale das Borboletas has a total area of approximately 5,600 square meters, with a service area 11 times the area of the previous provisional center.

The three-floor health centre will serve between 30,000 and 40,000 people, in an area where multiple social and economic housing projects have been developed or are under development.

The centre will provide community medical services such as adult health care -including seniors outpatient and medical examination – child health, antenatal health, women’s health, psychological health care, diagnosis and treatment of fever or individuals suspected of acute communicable diseases, vaccination, counselling and nursing services for the elderly and nursing services.

Areas have also been reserved for the provision of traditional Chinese medicine and stomatology in the future.

The normal opening hours of the health centre will be from Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 6:00 pm, or from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, with nursing services available during special service hours.

In 2021, the number of users of outpatient consultations at the eight health centers and three health posts exceeded 860,000 people, health authorities informed, with the Areia Preta Health Center reporting the highest number of outpatient consultations, more than 170,000.
