Sheraton Grand Macao

Sheraton providing quarantine room stay packages from HK$700 to HK$2,000 per night

Sheraton Grand Macao is providing a medical observation stay package for room rates between HK$700 (US$90) to HK$2,000 per night.

Since December 20 local health authorities have allowed for two optional medical observation hotels – Sheraton and Lisboeta – to be available to Macau residents and their relatives but also to non-residents, who do not wish to stay in government-designated hotels and decide to stay at these optional locations for a higher cost.

The price for the 14 or 21-days quarantine will be determined by the hotel according to different room types and market prices and will include breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus general medical observation hotel arrangements.

As of yesterday, some 369 people were under quarantine in both hotels.

Lisboeta Macau previously revealed that it has 539 rooms and 35 suites available for the new optional medical observation, with individual and family packages ranging from MOP700 to MOP2,700 per night.

According to information provided by Sheraton to Macau News Agency, a Deluxe Room and Suite options – smoking or non-smoking – will be provided for arrivals until February 6 of next year, with the last arrival on January 16.

The room rate for the Deluxe Room is set at HK$14,700 for 21 nights or 700 per night, with a king bed configuration or double beds, while the cost for the available Suite room is set at HK$42,000 for 21 nights or HK$2,000 per night, for a one-bedroom suite with one king bed.

The previous rates are set for a single person, for double occupancy, extra person charges will be applied at HK$200 per room per night. Other room types are also available upon request.

Room rates are exempted from the 10 per cent service charge and 5 per cent government tax per room per night.

Cancellations can also be made for no charge before 11:59 PM local hotel time 1 day prior to your arrival date.

The room packages include: daily full-board meal (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) with a choice of Chinese and Western sets, linen change service after seven days; In-Room / In-Suite mini-fridge; in-room dining service with an extra charge; Complimentary In-room Wi-Fi Internet access, laundry cleansing liquid, usage of In-room coffee and tea making facilities, in-room bottled water

Maximum occupancy per room is set at 2 adults plus 2 children age of 12 or below; two Adults plus one child or one adult plus two children at the age of 13 to 16.

Children at the age of 17 or above are considered as adults and can check in a room individually.

An additional adult/child aged above 1 year old is subject to surcharge as mentioned above and one rollaway bed (per room) can be arranged for the additional child.

Government designated hotels are limited to Macau residents and their relatives, with fees and procedures the same as before, at about MOP400 per night.

The Pousada Marina Infante, Golden Crown China Hotel, Grand Coloane Resort, Regency Art Hotel, Treasure Hotel and the Royal Dragon Hotel are currently defined as designated hotels, with 1,346 people under quarantine in these locations.

Sheraton has previously been used as a government-designated hotel, while Lisboeta – despite having already been granted a 4-star hotel license – has yet to officially open to the public.

Last week local authorities also announced that residents of Mainland China, Hong Kong or Taiwan who have been to a foreign country in the 21 days before their intended arrival in Macau will are currently prohibited from entering the region due to a new strain of coronavirus disease recently identified.

Eligible people wishing to visit Macau from other locations are now also required to undergo a 21-day medical observation upon arrival.

Those who have been to ‘medium-risk’ cities on the mainland, or Taiwan, in the 14 days immediately before arriving in Macau, will be subject to 14 days of medical observation in Macau.
