Gaming operator SJM Holdings announced it will donate 800 bags containing daily necessities and anti-epidemic supplies to the Macau Special Olympics and Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired for distribution to local families in need.
The supplies have been delivered since last Friday and include food and daily necessities including rice, noodles and toilet paper, as well as anti-epidemic masks and hand sanitisers, with all items purchased from local SME vendors.
Earlier this month SJM pledged to donate 3,000 Macau of these supply bags, worth some MOP1.5 million, to local families in need s via six local community associations, namely Macao Federation of Trade Unions, General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, The Women’s General Association of Macau, Caritas Macau, Macau Special Olympics and Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired.
Yesterday, Wynn Macau also announced it will donate hand sanitiser worth MOP2 million patacas as part of the fight against Covid-19.
Today, Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng also warned gaming operators that it is time to respond to the challenge with social responsibility, as authorities look for hotels to convert into quarantine centers.
