Some 18 Macau residents included in suspected pneumonia cases, no new confirmed cases

The Health Bureau (SS) Disease Control and Prevention Centre indicated today that of the 24 cases of suspected pneumonia cases currently under medical observation, 18 were Macau residents and six were from Mainland China.

Most of the locals under observation had traveled to Wuhan, with the Hubei province city being the center of the outbreak.

According to health authorities in the now daily 5:00pm press conference, 16 of these suspected cases are still waiting for tests that will rule the new pneumonia virus strain.

There are still only two confiremd cases, the 52-year-old Chinese woman and a Chinese 66-year-old man, both from Wuhan and both still stable and without worsening symptoms.

Health authorities also recommended that anyone feeling unwell and displaying symptoms associated with the illness, such as fever and coughing, should avoid using public transports such as buses or taxis – instead of calling for an ambulance or, if possible, drive to the public hospital emergency room.
