In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macau Special Administrative Region and the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has presented an array of activities with the Macau community.

On November 29, GEG  staged a breath-taking Drone Light Show at the Grand Resort Deck at Galaxy Macau. Tourists and residents enjoyed the spectacular and dazzling display of 300 aerial drones synchronized with lasers, lighting and sound effects lighting up the night sky with a series of unique graphics celebrating the city’s handover and the growth of Macau’s sports sector.

The drones then arranged themselves into images of a runner, in a series beginning with the start-line set posture and continuing through the finish-line crossing, honoring the perseverance and sportsmanship that marathon runners exemplify. These graphics kicked off the “2019 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon” by symbolizing the healthy activities in which Macau residents have engaged for the betterment of the community since 1999.

The drones also formed the shapes of a golden lotus, shining diamonds and the GEG logo, through which GEG expressed its wishes for Macau’s ongoing prosperity.

Additionally, on December 7, amid the visit of Olympic Gold Medalists to Macau, GEG invited gymnast’s Tong Fei, Li Xiao Shuang and Yang Wei; divers Qin Kai and He Zi; sport shooter Guo Wen Jun; and badminton player Zhao Yun Lei to share their experiences with nearly 300 students of the University of Macau’s Lui Che Woo College (LCWC). The medalists were warmly received by Mr. Song Yong Hua, Rector of the University of Macau, Mr. Yip Ming Chuen, College Master of LCWC, and Mr. Buddy Lam, Senior Vice President of Public Relations of GEG, together with the students. The event was part of the “Olympic Gold Medalists Visit Macau Series Activities – Energetic Visit 2019.”

During the sharing session, the medalists talked about how they had prepared for the Olympic Games in terms of mental preparation and physical training, and they encouraged the students to be engaged in sports for better health and positive and forward-looking life values. In addition, a highlight video of the Drone Light Show was also broadcast at the sharing session, which left everyone there in awe.

GEG’s celebration with the community continues with an array of exclusive offers that it has launched for Macau residents earlier. It is part of the “GEG Celebrates MSAR 20th Anniversary with You” campaign, which aims to thank Macau residents’ ongoing support.

The campaign allows Macau residents to enjoy a variety of fabulous offers at the Galaxy Macau, Broadway Macau and StarWorld Hotel through December 20. Upon presenting their permanent or non-permanent ID card, Macau residents will receive a 20 per cent discount on dining at more than 60 F&B outlets, purchasing of movie tickets at UA Galaxy Cinemas and enjoying world-class spa treatments. Macau residents will also receive special room rates on hotel bookings at selected hotels and the chance to enter the instant lucky drawings held at the Promenade Shops at Galaxy Macau.

In addition, Galaxy Macau’s popular F&B brands Gosto and Cha Bei have respectively launched a special dining menu and a special afternoon tea set in celebration of the occasion. By combining elements of history, culture and art, the two brands aim to showcase Macau’s unique charms as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure and a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

Throughout the years, GEG has received tremendous support from the Macau SAR Government and all members of the community, enabling it to create a unique and world-class integrated resort experience and assisting Macau in transforming into a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure and achieving economic diversification. Committed to its philosophy of “what is taken from the community is to be used for the good of the community,” GEG will continue to fulfil its corporate social responsibility and support the sustainable development of the Macau community.
