Sponsored – Get ready to explore Macao!

This year might just be ideal to explore Macao in ways we haven’t done before. With ten new itineraries added to “Macao Ready Go!” local tours, there’s plenty of adventures waiting for you to embark on.

Whether you’re looking for spending quality time with the family, learning about the history of Macao or immersing in art, there’s something for everyone. Since late January, the local travel industry has been widely affected by the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak. In June, the Macao Government revealed a subsidised programme of tours around the city to stimulate the economy and create more options for the population to spend their downtime. The itineraries are divided into ”Community-based tours” and “Leisure tours”, and prices start at just MOP 18 up to MOP 398. Each Macao resident can receive a subsidy of up to MOP 560 for joining one community-based tour and one leisure tour.

Within four to six hours, you’re able to explore the oldest parts of the city and their history, visit museums and iconic locations, learn to make traditional desserts and even go behind the scenes of our local powerplant and airport! You could go on a cruise, experience Virtual Reality, tour the backstage of the House of Dancing Water or an Art Gallery. You’ll be able to enjoy some of the great features of the city’s integrated resorts, immerse in the TeamLab experience or indulge in many other fun-filled activities.

An addition of ten new tours have been added recently with attractive prices. For MOP 18 only, you can imagine being part of the famous TV Drama “Greater Bay Children”. The tour “Experience Macao like a TV Star!” will follow all the locations where they shot the TV show here in Macao. In the end, you can shoot a video roleplay of the proposal scene at the Parisian. You will also get the chance to learn more about Coloane’s fishing history and beautiful Taipa village. For under 50MOP, you’ll be able to tour Macao from the top of the Macao Tower to the sights of the A-Ma temple.

Missing being inside of an aeroplane? There’s also a tour for that. The “Love, Dream & Family tour” gives you the chance to learn all about commercial planes and go inside private jets. Find out how aeroplanes are managed and controlled and end the day in a sunflower field in Coloane.

If you haven’t ridden the newly built Macao Light Rapid Transit (LRT) yet, make the best of your day by learning how it works. Enjoy a ride between MUST and Ocean Garden with spectacular view, a relaxing stroll along the Parisian gardens and finish off the day with local gourmet at the heart of Taipa. Not to be missed!

Another excellent tour for families, the “Family Leisure” tour lets you and the little ones adventure through the Sands Cotai’s Planet J Adventure Kingdom, where you can dress into costume and take pictures before enjoying the Parisian Garden.

Macao is a very photogenic city, and there’s nothing like spending the day with a professional photographer to get all the best tips on how to take fabulous photos. For under 100MOP, start with a tasty buffet lunch at Hotel Royal before venturing off to stunning places such as the Vasco da Gama Garden, St. Lazarus Church, Santa Casa da Misericórdia or the iconic Ruins of St. Paul.

For all the science buffs, there’s also a new “Macao Science tour”, with which you’ll be able to learn about old Macao, experience a non-alcoholic workshop at the culinary lab, tour one of the national laboratories of Macao and learn all about e-sports at the MESUF Gaming Training Centre.

Selected tours include some added perks, like a meal voucher, or games credit. You can find out more about these and other tours at https://www.macaotourism.gov.mo/en/article/macao-ready-go/local-tour
