‘Stay, Dine and See Macao’ returns

The ‘Stay Dine and See Macau’ domestic tourism initiative is resuming under the condition that the city’s pandemic situation remains stable, the Macau Government Tourism Office said.

The hotel staycation scheme will move ahead first with local residents being able to sign in from today (Saturday) as check-ins will resume on Monday (August 8).

Under the hotel staycation arrangement, each local resident is eligible to a one-off MOP200 subsidy to stay in a local hotel, while the cost of each hotel room can be subsidised to a maximum quota for two residents,equivalent toMOP400in total.

Local tours will also restart, as residents register starting from Monday, while the tours are slated to resume on August 15. Each Macau resident can enjoy a maximumsubsidy of MOP280patacas for participating in one of the localtours,includingaMOP100dining card.

The “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project started on January 29 and was set to last until August 31. It had to be suspended in id0June following the COVID-19 outbreak that hit the city.

MGTO stresses that the initiative “has beenoperated in strict compliance with Health Bureau’s guidelines on pandemic prevention”, adding that it will “ stay tuned to the latest pandemic situation and make appropriate arrangements promptly for all the activities”.
