Suncity Group to partially open Hoiana resort facilities on June 28

Hong Kong-listed Suncity Group has announced that its Hoiana integrated resort in Hoi An, Central Vietnam will welcome its first guests on June 28.

The group will introduce some of its first operational facilities for an exclusive preview this weekend, including the property’s Hoiana Shores Golf Club or its 143 Hoiana Hotel & Suites managed by the Rosewood Hotel Group.

‘With easy access from Danang International Airport and the region’s popular landmarks, we are confident that Hoiana will flourish as a premium lifestyle destination for both domestic and international visitors, the Chief Executive Officer of Hoiana, Steve Wolstenholme, indicated in the statement.

However, the US$4 billion integrated resort project will only hold its first phase grand opening in early 2021, a delay justified by the group on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The project’s first stage includes more than 1,000 hotel rooms, a casino with 140 gaming tables and over 300 slot machines, as well as a golf course.

Prior to this opening, Suncity will introduce two high-end hotels, the KHOS Hoiana and New World Hoiana Hotel & Residences along with other dining areas.

The Rosewood Hoi An hotel is expected to open by the end of 2022.

The Hoiana project began construction works in 2016, with Hoi An South Development Co Ltd (HASD) – the Vietnam-based joint venture of which Suncity Group holds a 34 per cent stake – granted a casino operating license in May of this year valid until 2080.

The joint venture responsible for the project also includes Chow Tai Fook and VinaCapital Group.
