Supermarket goods cheaper

Almost half of supermarket goods were cheaper in July, according to the Consumer Council’s monthly “Supermarket Price Survey Report”. Compared with last month’s data, almost 44 percent of the 200 items surveyed this month recorded a decrease in prices. Seven out of 17 brands of rice recorded price drops from 0.2 to 3 percent. For cereal and seasoning products, the average prices for over half of the surveyed items reflected slight decreases in prices of almost 3.4 and 2.6 percent respectively.
