The Macau authorities announced yet another case of contagion from covid-19, bringing the number of infected people to 31 since the outbreak of the new coronavirus.
In just over 24 hours, six people infected with covid-19 were announced.
The case now reported concerns a 27-year-old Macau resident who took a flight from New York, United States of America, this Wednesday, to Hong Kong, from where he traveled to Macau via the Kong Bridge Kong-Zhuhai-Macau, the authorities said.
The Macau resident was transported from the former British colony to Macau using the institutionalized transport service to support residents, the Government of Macau said, adding that “due to the presentation of symptoms – fever – he was immediately referred to the Special Emergency at the Centro Hospitalar Conde São Januário” for testing.
The result of the sample carried out at the public hospital “proved positive for the new type of coronavirus”, they detailed.
