Sands China The Londoner Hotel has been given a possible opening day on early February, 2021, the gaming operator’s president, Wilfred Wong, indicated according to Allin Media.
In comments yesterday (Thursday) to local media following a group event named ‘Sands China Academy Distinctive Talent Developmenr Sharing Session’, Wong did not provide an exact estimated date for the opening, however, it would match with the 2021 Chinese New Year, set to start on February 12.
Other shops and food outlets at the Londoner Macao integrated resort US$2.2 billion (MOP17.5 billion) revamp currently on-going at the Sands Cotai Central property would also open by that time.
The Londoner Macao feature two hotels, the Londoner Court with approximately 370 luxury suites and The Londoner Hotel with approximately 600 suites.
Previously, the Executive Vice President of Global Retail at Las Vegas Sands, David Sylvester, had indicated that The Londoner Court suites are still expected to be completed late this year, with the integrated resort project to be opened in phases throughout 2020 and 2021.
The refurbished complex will also add a new 6,000-seat arena, new dining and entertainment offerings and recreations of classic British landmarks, including an exterior façade of the property modelled on the world-famous Palace of Westminster and Houses of Parliament and a replica of Big Ben.
At the same time, Wong estimated that Sands’ local properties would report an occupancy rate of some 40 per cent during the Christmas holidays if taking into account the current growth rate of visitors in the city.
The city reported about 582,000 visitor arrivals in October, accounting for a 29.6 per cent jump from the previous month.
