Three more cases raise total to 29

The Macau authorities announced three more cases of contagion from Covid-19, bringing the number of infected people to 29 since the outbreak of the new coronavirus.

All cases are imported, with all three returning from the UK in the past few days. Two are students, aged 15 and 17, the third is also a 28-year-old Macau resident, the New Coronavirus Contingency Coordination Center said in a statement.

After Macau had been without infection for 40 days, in less than 10 days the territory identified 19 new cases, all of which were imported.

Macau recorded a first wave of 10 cases of infection by Covid-19 in February, which have already been discharged.

After detecting new cases, the authorities reinforced border control measures and restrictions and the mandatory 14-day quarantine imposed on virtually everyone entering the territory.
