The number of tourist arrivals on the first day of the National Day Golden Week stood at 1,749, just over one tenth of the figure recorded on the same day last year (15,254), according to figures from the Macao Government Tourism Office.
When compared with the pre-pandemic period (of 2019), the figure accounts for just 1.29 per cent of the number of tourist arrivals recorded then (134,988) on October 1.
