Typhoon Signal No. 1 to be hoisted at 7:00pm

Typhoon Signal No. 1 will be issued at 7:00 pm today (Wednesday), possibly causing heavy winds and rains in Macau tomorrow, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) announced.

The SMG noted that the intensity and movement of the typhoon are still uncertain, and the tropical depression in the central part of the South China Sea has entered the 800 km alert zone of Macau, while gradually moving towards the Guangdong coast and Hainan Island.

The rainband of the tropical depression may cause intensified winds, heavy showers, and thunderstorms in the SAR tomorrow, the SMG alerted.
