Virus: City has now five cases

Three imported cases of the new type of coronavirus in Macau were diagnosed, increasing to 5 cumulative cases. The third imported case of the new type of coronavirus relates to a 58-year-old woman, retired, resident of Wuhan. She entered Macau via the Outer Harbor Maritime Terminal last Thursday. Upon arrival, took a taxi to Kiang Wu Hospital due to dizziness and low fever was detected so she was transported to the Emergency Service of the Centro Hospitalar Conde São Januário (CHCSJ). After the examination on the same day, the result was negative for the new type of coronavirus. However, a second screening test carried out today was positive.

The fourth imported case of the new type of coronavirus concerns a 39-year-old woman, domestic, resident of Wuhan, that entered Macau through the Lotus Flower border last Wednesday. Yesterday, she presented low fever and was transported to the CHCSJ Special Emergency Service. Today morning, after two tests, the result was positive for the new type of coronavirus.

The fifth imported case concerns a 21-year-old female teacher, resident of Wuhan. On January 23, she entered Macau at the border post of the Lotus Flower. Yesterday afternoon manifested symptoms of dizziness and muscle pain, and was transported bto the CHCSJ Emergency Service. This morning, a positive result was confirmed for the new type of coronavirus, after two screening test. All last three patient’s clinical condition are considered normal according to the Health Bureau. The first two cases are also stable.
