Wynn ushers in Year of the Goat

Wynn Macau celebrated the arrival of the Year of the Goat with a dragon and lion dance performance and the lighting of 800,000 firecrackers on the very first day of the Lunar New Year. The company said in a statement that on February 19, the first day of the Lunar New Year, Mr. Ian Michael Coughlan, President of Wynn Macau, led the management team in officiating the auspicious dragon and lion eye-dotting ceremony. “This was followed by a spectacular lion dance performance featuring pyrotechnics and lions that were custom-made in signature Wynn colours,” the statement added. Mr. Coughlan then lit the 800,000 firecrackers. Around 100 lion dance performers continued to parade in the hotel on the same day with the accompaniment of drums and gongs, bestowing wishes of good fortune on the hotel and its guests in the Year of the Goat.
