Sands China Ltd chairman Sheldon Adelson is going all-in on Republican U.S. presidential candidate, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney. According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, Mr Adelson and his wife, Miriam, have given US$10 million (MOP80 million) to support Mr Romney’s presidential campaign. During the Republican Party presidential primaries, Mr Adelson and his family had supported Newt Gingrich, giving him a total of US$21 million, according to media reports. As Mr Romney eventually won the nomination race, Mr Adelson is showing no hesitation in backing him now. The casino mogul has made it clear on several occasions that his top priority for November’s U.S. presidential election is preventing Barack Obama from getting re-elected.
