High inflation is worrying consumers in Macau, with confidence in prices plunging in the final three months of last year. A study by the Macau University of Science and Technology shows the consumer confidence index on price levels fell to 51.25 points from 63.06 three months before. The index peak is 200. The study also found people’s overall consumer confidence was slightly pessimistic with readings of 84.7 in Macau, a 3.91 percent drop from the third quarter and still below the neutral 100 points.
